![]() Joni Sare, Nutrition Educator and Natural Chef Nutritionist and Board Member of the Health Medicine Forum Walnut Creek, CA “The knowledge I gained at Bauman College includes how to be present myself in the world and how to make a difference by being on the front lines of making this a better place for all. ” The Bauman College philosophy of nutrition and health fits right into the ideal that being well that not only comes from physical, mental and emotional health, but also includes the health of the relationships with your family, community and coworkers. As I work with individuals and groups in my nutrition counseling practice and yoga classes I encourage them to address not only nutrition and physical fitness, but also the other facets of their lives. Just yesterday, as I stood looking at a glass case displaying pastries, cookies, sandwiches and tortilla wraps, a woman next to me said, "Don’t those pastries look divine?" I replied, "Well, no, not for me, because I like to eat for health. These dishes just don’t have the vibrancy I look for in food." and I gave her a brief explanation of the Bauman College Eating 4 Health food plan. This response is a direct result of my education at Bauman College. Since immersing myself in the school’s course work and curriculum, I find that I am more discerning about my food and lifestyle choices now. I'm dedicated to sharing my knowledge with others in order to enable them to make better choices. I'm involved in several health-related organizations: Health Medicine Forum, National Association of Nutrition Professionals, Sugi Studios - a Yoga and Fitness center, as well as the church I belong to. The basic ideology of each group is that the health of the individual builds upon and contributes to bringing about a better world for everyone. The knowledge I gained at Bauman College includes how to be present myself in the world and how to make a difference by being on the front lines of making this a better place for all. This was an unexpected bonus because the reason I went to Bauman College was to get more nutritional information for my own - and for my future clients’ - edification. After a few classes I realized that everyone I come in contact with will benefit from my education at Bauman College . It's a lifestyle change. It gave me certainty to be forthcoming with these ideals while being in the midst of our harried, overly commercialized world. It's a committment to being a role model of mindful living and loving. |
