![]() Maria Treuge, Nutrition Consultant Owner of Color Of Nutrition Santa Cruz, CA www.colorofnutrition.net “My education at Bauman College challenged and inspired me, giving me a new confidence in myself”
I am a Nutrition Educator and Nutrition Consultant graduate from Bauman College, Santa Cruz. My career training includes 13 years as a professional Vegetarian Chef and a Caterer locally. I am currently employed part-time as a Nutrition Consultant at the Pacific Arts Center in Aptos, working with Dr. Fratianni, where I see a wide range of clients with varying health challenges. I also volunteer one day per week at the WomenCARE center in Capitola, CA. I am part of the Santa Cruz Celiac Support Group and am a occasional speaker. Currently, I am starting my own business and I look forward to the opportunity of working with and educating my clients. My education at Bauman College challenged and inspired me, giving me a new confidence in myself. I now have the power to educate and share the importance of nutrition and how it impacts our health. I went from being terrified at the prospect of going to school and wondering whether I could manage or pass the curriculum to succeeding, with the excellent support of Bauman College teachers and staff. I have built up my self esteem and know that I can be successful in this career. I have something of importance to share and can educate and consult within the community. Today I continue my education with seminars and am growing and learning with each client that I have the pleasure of working with. My final paper was inspired by real life experience and I continue to be drawn into the arena of learning and educating about gluten-free and allergy-free eating. We have a continued and overwhelming need for nutrition education in our media-hyped world and a significant obligation to teach our children what is nutrition and what is not. Obesity is plaguing our youth (and adults) due to lack of nutrition knowledge. The need for credentialed, holistic nutritionists is at an all time high. |
