Studying nutrition is fascinating for me; I love learning about all aspects of nutrition. The Bauman College curriculum was innovative and challenging, pushing me to fully explore this diverse field of study. What I learned at school lead me to honestly believe the body can thrive through good nutrition.

I found my classmates generous, supportive and caring, especially during individual class presentations. I really enjoyed the depth of sharing I experienced with other students. I learned to care for and care about myself and to build my health in different ways, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. That knowledge is being passed on through my relationship to others. At the end of my term at school I found myself eager and confident about pursuing my life’s ambition as a Nutritional Consultant.

I own a business in San Francisco called Apple Lakes Nutritional Therapies. I originally focused on celiac disease and gastrointestinal conditions, but now my practice runs the gamut of issues; I have clients that range from wanting to run the marathon better to epilepsy to cancer. I also organize workshops and presentations.

The education I received at Bauman College helped to build a strong knowledge base that has helped me to explore the wide range of information within the field of nutrition. I learned how to assess a nutrition client properly and to use a wide range of nutrition testing that is available to help in client assessment. The most valuable learning I believe I received was that there are many natural therapies that are useful in addressing health conditions that aren’t harmful. It’s great to be in such a leading-edge profession.
